Just for the Kids Education Foundation announces Classroom Project Award recipients 

Eleven Bensalem Township School District classroom projects will receive over $4,900 in funding

At the Nov. 28 meeting of the Bensalem board of school directors, the Just for the Kids Education Foundation board announced the recipients of the Classroom Project Awards for the 2023-24 school year. 

The 11 projects will receive funding totaling $4,934.61. 

Just for the Kids has been funding projects since 1996, with over $500,000 going directly into the classrooms of all nine Bensalem Township School District schools. These projects help teachers achieve their respective educational goals and enhance their classroom presentations. 

Projects include:

  • Rush Elementary School: Maryann Brescia, Dance at Benjamin Rush ($497.80); Jeannie Guerra, Drama Club ($500)
  • Struble Elementary School: Katie Homewood, Eyes of the Wild ($320)
  • Valley Elementary School: Michelle Briggs, Club Ophelia ($500); Margaret Moran, Lego Wall Project ($484.50); Margaret Moran, Elementary Hallway Book Walks ($492.51)
  • Snyder Middle School: Shannon Kasprzyk, Snyder Smiles ($500); Wendy Lobban, Veterans Day Letters ($139.80)
  • Bensalem High School: Emily Anastasi, Michael Zimmerman, Susan Hinson and Keith Wilson, BHS Band Workshop/Performance — Dr. Quincy Hilliard ($500); Lisa Tokmajian, PA Junior Academy of Science ($500); Ashlee Bartol, Stained Glass Panels ($500)
